Happy New Year

We had a fireworks party in front of the house tonight - it was only 6:45 pm, but when your bedtime is 7:00 pm it's pretty late.  The girls had a blast.

Merry Christmas!

This Christmas marks three years home for my girls.  We flew home Christmas Eve 2010 and things have never been the same.  

First Christmas 2010.  We didn't do much with the tree that year - the lights were a bit much for the girls.  We did drive to my sisters and surprise the family.  

Christmas 2011 the girls got their first Christmas Eve PJ's and met Santa.  They got bikes and princess dresses and had a blast riding around the neighborhood.

Christmas 2012 - the girls started helping with the decorating.  They both got a Fur Real Friends pony.  

Christmas 2013 - both girls really wanted a winged unicorn.  Santa had fun hunting them down.  Evidently a winged unicorn's official name is a Alicorn.

Three Years Ago Today ....

I held my daughters for the first time.  We've had tough days, happy days, days I didn't want to end and days I thought would never end.  Through it all I've never had a moments regret and at last learned that some things can really be "worth the wait."  

Hong Kong

Three years ago today we were in Hong Kong.  So much of the trip was so surreal that if I didn't have two daughters I don't know if I wouldn't call it a dream.

Three Years Ago a Man and Woman Boarded a Plane

Today three years ago we got up at three am (actually I don't think we slept) and boarded a plane headed to our future (and Hong Kong).  The flight was long (it spanned a day - including a five hour layover in Chicago) and uncomfortable - economy plus is not very plus.  It was the another step in the most exciting journey of my life.

Birthday Party

Today the girls went to their first birthday party hosted by a classmate.  The party was fun!  They had a bounce house, face painting and decorated cookies.  The girls had lots of fun in the bounce house, playing with their friends and decorating cookies, the biggest hit of the party was the face painter.  I don't quite know how she managed it, but she face painted ten girls in less than an hour and she didn't just paint a tiny butterfly or rainbow on a cheek.

First Loose Tooth

Last week one of the girls reported a loose tooth.  A quick inspection confirmed looseness.  With in hours the second twin reported a loose tooth - in the exact same location in her mouth.  When I check on it - it did not really seem to be loose.  It seemed like a case of possible wishful thinking.

This morning I checked both girls loose teeth again and to my surprise both have a loose tooth in the exact same spot in their mouth.  

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas
