Update on the Puppies
So Gia and Ohana are now five months old. They are finally housebroken and are sleeping through the night. We are now working on training. Gia seems to be a little quicker on picking up on tricks and Ohana was the first to be housebroken. Yeah maybe it was nuts getting a Jack Russell Terrier and maybe two was a big leap, but we are the double happiness family.

Sometimes A Mommy's Heart Hurts
Being a mom is such a joy, but with joy sometimes there is also sadness. The other day I was driving the girls home from school and Roni was telling me about her day at school. She told me that her teacher had them practicing in case a "bad guy" came into the school. They were to stay in their classroom, turn off the lights, draw the blinds, lock the door, be quiet and hide." As she spoke my heart began to break a little - actually a lot. By the time I got home I was crying.
The worst part for me is that the actions of sick people are robbing my precious daughters of part of their innocence. But like my former sister-in-law said, "It's love, not fear, that's going to save the world."

Playing in the Leaves
We have a twelve dollar tree in our front yard. It went from a twig with two branches to a huge, beautiful tree that flowers in spring and whose leaves turn gold and red in winter. This afternoon upon coming home from school Rose was inspired to make a leaf pile while Roni finished her aftercare snack and supervised.

They Were Not Impressed
As parents of twins one of the most common questions asked is are they identical. In the past we said we didn't know - which was almost always met with incredulous looks. So we decided to order a DNA kit. A few swabs to their cheeks and $100 later we had results.
We are officially the parents of identical twins! Neither twin was nearly as excited by the results as we were.

Quick Trip to Disney
We are Walt Disney World annual pass holders and live about a two hour drive away. So quick Disney trips are something we are able to enjoy. Yesterday we blitzed down to go to the Osbourne Family Dancing Light show at Hollywood Studios. We were meeting our niece, her husband and their daughter - the girls cousin K.
Since we were not meeting them till the afternoon we went to a a SuperWal a Mart near our hotel where the girls both hot some Hello Kitty apparel and I got a pedicure. The nail techs were so enchanted by the girls that they both got free manicure. The girls were thrilled - it was great since it kept them occupied while I was pampered with a lint overdue nail trim, foot and leg massage and paint job.
Cousin K surprised the girls with matching princess ears. They had a blast playing together in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground - we shut the place down. Then they enjoyed a Mickey pretzel and hot cocoa while they waited for the lights - the light show was kicked off with "snow" which the girls loved playing in.

The Tooth Fairy
This evening Roni came out of the bathroom to show us she lost her first tooth. Rose has a second tooth that is loose - it was actually sideways - not surprising after all the fiddling she has done with it. I got out a tissue and we popped it right out. Then we put both teeth in the little tooth holders that the dentist gave us.
