Day One of Summer Break

What a day.  The girls got us up at 6:45 am.  I had breakfast on the table by 7:10 am - eggs, grits and fruit.  After breakfast the girls played while I mopped the laundry room floor and cleaned the kitchen.   They have really great imaginations - one of the games they played is a favorite they call train.

After playing we read for a while on our Kindles.  I highly recommend if you have kids you check out the new Kindle Fire HD which comes with the Amazon App Freetime.  It is a wonderful app that makes the Kindle very kid friendly.  Once you install the app you can customize the Kindle for your child.  Content you'd rather your child not have is locked.  They have a wide variety of books, games and videos available.  It also lets you set limits on how long they can play games and watch videos as opposed to reading books.

Then we had lunch and went to the pool to swim with Aunt DeeDee.  The girls had a blast and Roni is starting to swim.  Rose isn't swimming yet, but is so very close to swimming as well.  Our swimming was cut short by the weather.  All in all it's been a good first day.
